Classic Climbs of France, Day 3, Blauvac Loop (recovery day)

Today’s Ride
Highlights
Today was a travel day, as we took a seven-hour bus ride from the Pyrénées region to the Provence region. Still we managed to stretch our legs and get in a short ride with a bit of climbing. The raison d’etre for being in this region is to climb Mont Ventoux (see what I did there?).
Our hotel (pictures below) is the former Château de Mazan, built in 1715, owned by the de Sade family, and frequented by the Marquis de Sade.
Today’s ride was short, just 15 miles. The climate and environment are decidedly different than in the Pyrénées region. More arid and a bit less green. The ride was nice, touring through vineyards and orchards, and finishing with a sweet 1,000 ft. descent and a tailwind, or a “tailey” as our our kiwi guide taught me today.
