Alan and Dave’s 2022 Coast to Coast Cycling Adventure
This year, after an amazing 40-year career, I decided to retire and ride my bicycle across the country (planned route pictured above). I am keeping this journal to chronicle my journey as Dave, my riding partner, and I attempt to ride across the United States in 38 days, with the support of our incredible spouses Dee and Sue.
I am also continuing my ongoing support for Pelotonia, an organization dedicated to rallying the cycling community to fund cancer research. If you follow my adventure, I ask that you please consider donating to my fundraising efforts.
The Journey
All in all, including our warmup rides on the Oregon Coast Highway, I logged 3,118 miles and 103,871 feet climbed. Dave logged 3,330 and 110,833.
